II. Complete Workflow: From Launch to Export
The following workflow will guide you through a complete audio enhancement experience.
After installation, Boom 2 usually launches automatically. Make sure the Boom 2 icon (a sound wave-like graphic) appears in the menu bar. On first use, you may need to grant system accessibility permissions; please check Boom 2 in “System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Accessibility” as prompted.
- Click the Boom 2 icon in the menu bar.
- In the drop-down panel, make sure the “Boom” switch at the top is turned on (shown in blue).
- Click the current preset name (defaults to “Default”) to bring up the preset list.
- Select a preset from the list that suits your current scenario, for example, choose “Bass Redux” (bass boost) when listening to music. The effect takes hold immediately after selection.
- Click “More” in the menu bar to open the main settings window.
- Switch to the “Effects” tab.
- Slowly drag the “Intensity” slider to the right until you achieve a satisfactory overall sound quality improvement.
- Adjust “Ambience” and “Subwoofer” according to the content. When watching movies, you can appropriately increase the ambience; when listening to electronic music, you can boost the subwoofer.
- Switch to the “Equalizer” tab.
- You can directly drag the 16-band equalizer sliders for manual fine-tuning, for example, raising the 60Hz slider to add ultra-low frequencies, or raising the 4KHz slider to make vocals clearer.
- You can also click the preset area (such as “Pop”, “Rock”, “Jazz”) to quickly apply professionally tuned curves.
