Snippetty for Mac is a live code demonstration assistant designed specifically for developers. It aims to make every technical sharing, teaching, or product demo easy and professional, ensuring that presenters can focus on explaining rather than coding through smooth code snippet invocation.
The core function of Snippetty is to extract and manage code snippets from Markdown files and invoke them on demand during presentations. Its design philosophy is to separate the “presentation script” from “live coding,” thereby ensuring a smooth and professional presentation flow.
The basic workflow is as follows:
The tool automatically scans code blocks in the file and prepares them for copying during the presentation, ensuring a smooth flow and avoiding interruptions or errors caused by live coding.
Writing presentation content as a Markdown script brings multiple benefits:
Snippetty intelligently ignores headings, subheadings, and free text in the Markdown file, focusing only on the code snippets themselves.
Snippetty is designed to be neutral and does not limit any specific programming language, framework, or development environment. Its sole goal is to deliver the right code snippet to the system clipboard at the right time.
Therefore, whether your presentation topic is iOS development, Electron apps, CSS tricks, or the tools you use are Xcode, Visual Studio Code, or Coda, Snippetty can be your capable assistant.
When you need the next snippet, click the Snippetty icon in the menu bar. A pop-up will display the next prompt and the corresponding code snippet.
Steps:
Set a keyboard shortcut for the “copy and advance” action to achieve a smoother, distraction-free presentation experience.

Many friends have reported that when first using such tools, the installation process can easily get stuck. Don’t worry, let’s break it down step by step to ensure you can use Snippetty smoothly.
Click the download link at the bottom of the page to get the Snippetty for Mac installation package. The file is usually in .dmg format. After downloading, double-click the .dmg file, and a window containing the application icon will pop up.
Note: If the system prompts “cannot open,” please first check the “Security & Privacy” settings and allow installation from “Anywhere.” This is a routine macOS protection mechanism, not a software issue.
Drag the Snippetty icon directly to the adjacent “Applications” folder. This process takes only a few seconds, and the system will automatically complete the file copy.
After dragging, you can find the Snippetty icon in Launchpad or the “Applications” folder.
When launching Snippetty for the first time, the system may pop up a security prompt asking whether to allow the app to control your Mac. Please click “Allow” or “Open.” This step is to allow the software to properly read the clipboard and respond to shortcuts.
If you accidentally click “Deny,” you can go to “System Preferences” -> “Security & Privacy” -> “Privacy” -> “Accessibility” and manually check Snippetty.
After launching, you will see the Snippetty icon in the menu bar at the top right of the screen. Click it, select “Load Markdown File,” and then select your prepared presentation script.
After successful loading, the icon will become active, indicating that the software is ready to start the presentation at any time.
Based on user feedback, we have compiled some high-frequency questions to help you clear usage obstacles.
A: Snippetty does not limit any language. It is only responsible for extracting code blocks from Markdown files, whether it contains Python, JavaScript, Swift, or SQL, it can handle them normally.
A: Of course. In Snippetty’s Preferences, you can find the shortcut settings and freely define the key combination for “copy and advance.”
A: Please check whether your Markdown file contains standard code block markers (i.e., code areas wrapped in three backticks). Snippetty only recognizes this format.
A: No. If you use “shortcut mode,” the entire copying process is completed in the background, and there will be no pop-up on the screen, which is very suitable for professional presentations.
A: Absolutely. You just need to save the Markdown file and reload it the next time you present, which is very convenient.
A: Usually one activation code is bound to one device. Please refer to the software’s license agreement for details. The version provided on this page has been tested and works, and the activation process is smooth.
A: First try restarting the software. If the problem persists, you can delete the preferences file (usually under ~/Library/Preferences/) and reconfigure. This can solve most configuration conflict issues.
A: Currently, Snippetty’s interface is mainly in English, but its operation logic is very intuitive, and the learning curve for Chinese users is not high.
